Revulsion Download Windows 8

Updated: Mar 23, 2020

About This Game Revulsion is the missing link between old school classic first person shooters and modern day first person shooters. Imagine if the classic fps had evolved in a direction other than a story based experience, to being something much more brutal, with more advanced gameplay mechanics. Revulsion takes classic Doom and Quake style gameplay and combines it with the core concepts that permeate the Dark Souls design philosophy. You will navigate both hand crafted and randomly generated level design to unravel a series of increasingly more dangerous environments. If you die, you will have one chance to recover your dropped credits and loot, or it will be erased forever. Revulsion is a game that is meant to challenge you without being unfair. Revulsion also includes light RPG elements such as leveling, crafting and upgrading your equipment. In addition to that, there is a large amount of potential loot that you can discover to help you along the way. Weapons, armor, and even special abilities that are tied to limited resources. You will have the ability to craft items from blueprints, as well as repairing broken items that you may find throughout the world. Exploration is key, as you will be searching all over the world to discover as many secrets as possible. You never know what you might find as you unearth the deepest darkest depths. The dev communicates with the players and actively asks for feedback, so I can definitely tell that this game is in good hands. I recommend picking it up and giving it a go.. Revulsion 2 confirmed :P. A great retro FPS\/looter shooter hybrid. Movement is swift and guns feel fun to shoot.+Great gun feel.+Loot feels rewarding without making guns feel like pellet shooters too quickly.+Handcrafted levels are great, with decent procedural generation bonus levels for extended play.+Some tactical thinking starts to evolve at later stages, using weapons to exploit weaknesses.+Dev is active on forum\/ with community, and may extend the game (but even without updates it's worth buying)+-Replaying maps to power up will appeal to some, not others.-procedural levels are decent mechanically, but can be visually boring-early game difficulty spike might make a few people miss out on the later game, when the it begins to shine.. Literally redpilled and based doom RPG. Probably the most enjoyable loot and shoot game I've ever played. For me, this sort of game is made on the basis of its moment-to-moment core game-play loop. For many people, the endless dopamine drip of randomized loot is all it takes to carry a game, but I am not one of those people. This is why I can't stand Borderlands and I like this game a lot (that and the incessant Reddit-tier meme humor, which this game mercifully lacks). This game feels nice to PLAY before you get into the equipment, crafting and loot (of which there is plenty).Movement and gun-play feels a bit like a cross between Counter-Strike and Quake. Mind you, that is a loose comparison. Unfortunately, no bunny hopping or strafe jumping is possible, as far as I know. You have a movement penalty for weapon accuracy that resets pretty much instantly when you stop moving. This means that it is possible with certain weapons to counter-strafe much like you would in CS, though you still aren't as accurate. You do have good accuracy in the air, which is nice. There are a wide variety of weapons and most of them are enjoyable to use.Maps generally follow a pretty old-school FPS design philosophy, They are sprawling and complex. You have to collect a set of objective items to unlock to exit from the level. It also features randomized level layouts which are what I would expect from that: a lot of modular stuck together randomly. They very quickly start to feel familiar, but there is enough hand made content that this isn't much of an issue. There are a wide variety enemies, but nothing particularly unique. Zombies that walk towards you for a melee attack. Fast zombies that do the same. "Heavy" enemies with mini-guns, grenade launchers, and rocket launchers that walk slowly toward you and fire. Soldiers with pistols, machine guns, and shotguns. And so forth. They all work pretty well, though some enemies very easily lose track of you, which is easy to exploit. The art style, sound design, and music are adequate, but not particularly memorable to me.Overall, recommended for people who like more old school FPS mechanics and wouldn't mind some loot management and crafting on top of that.. Now my first review was super negative and I still think the game is a bit to flawed and unsteady. But get this, Revulsion is a hardcore souls inspired game to a point where its not even logically possible. The new update was very nice but many things are way to OP and lethal and have extreme reflexes and skills.I like the mechanics of it, a lot, but it really hurts the entire focus when its XP, loot, data and resource farming in each area. Revulsion holds promise if it fixes a lot of the milk the system and amped up enemies or their god like anatomy resistance to reality. Know this the game is hard, I wouldnt even call it a game, hell would be more fitting, its fun but man will it ♥♥♥♥ you over without trying and thats not cool.. Way better than Anthem.. The game provides a good exploration experience. You need to develop your character's power by grinding for gear & resources, finding secrets, and leveling up, in order to be strong enough to explore new areas. The game has few difficulty spikes which took me a lot of retries to get past.Gameplay:Combat is somewhat cover based, since it isn't practicle to try to dodge most attacks. It's more focused around resource management - using the right weapon for the right situation, and conserving ammo. You don't want to waste your few precious rockets on weak zombies when they can 1 hit strong monsters.. very frustating, you can lose all items and crafting materials with one dead, if you cant recover your box (or the game crash after dead). Revulsion is such a great game, and the potential for it even in Early Access is apparent. I was drawn in by the promise of retro style shooting mixed in with new school design philosophy. And it works. It focuses on the elements for each style of design principles from old and new that works, and it works gloriously. The shooting and control is tight. The light rpg mechanics and Dark Souls esque levelling is great. I also like the boxy visuals, they work so well with what this game is doing. Really at this moment in time, my only gripe with the game as is is its lacklustre HUD and interface system. It's very rote, bland but functional. It doesn't fit in with the aesthetics of the rest of the game, but obviously the developer is already working on this. I can't wait to see what else is in store and for the future!Highly recommend it :)
