About This Game VectorWave translates the traditional tower defense experience into virtual reality, allowing you the freedom to buy, place, toss, and move towers as you see fit between each wave with almost no need for menus. Each hand serves its own purpose in your efforts to build an impenetrable defense grid against increasingly difficult hordes of malware bent on destroying your mainframe.Moving from a 2-D top down perspective in traditional TD games to Virtual Reality allows us to expand on this genre like never before. Because split second decisions and positioning matter, VectorWave's simple, yet versatile, movement and scaling system allows you to either stand directly in the action, or watch your carefully laid out plans from afar. For only $10, the current content and response time of the devs (I had an issue that was fixed within 4 minutes) is pretty damn good. The newer levels they added are actually quite the challenge. I hope to see more towers in the future, but the current ones and the branching upgrade paths for them are pretty nice.It isn't perfect, some of the earlier levels are pretty easy to breeze through, and the menus for upgrading can be picky at times as well. Would also like to see some more freedom when it comes to throwing the towers. Right now, they just kind of fall out of your hand when you let them go. I want to be able to at least lob them a bit!. Here's my FIRST LOOK video on it:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUsSolGQ118Tower defense in VR, very simple. It didn't look much at first, but it's really awesome playing this in VR. Idea of having tower defense in VR is simply awesome, it's like playing in a sandbox xDIt's also very addictive, I was planning on making a quick first look video to see what's it all about, but I ended up playing for over an hour. I wish it had custom levels, more turrets / tower options and also wayyyy longer levels, such as like 50 - 100 waves (custom settings perhaps). I wanna see this thing go for an hour on same level, so that I can upgrade more towers and have a real shooting gallery. Also could have more different "monsters".Well it's in early access, so I hope devs will listen to my ideas and add that stuff. But in general it's lot of fun.. 9\/10Very fun, very challenging. Full of strategic depth. Exactly what one should demond of TD. VR works extremely well. My only gripe is that one level (in the middle) is impossibly difficult, and the developers have said that they have difficulty with it themselves and have questioned whether to reduce the difficulty. Um, yes. Yes you should. If you can't do it, what chance do us plebs have?Great game though, adictive, fun, challenging.. Awesome and somewhat straight forward Tower Defense, DEFINITELY worth the $1 sale price. I'd honestly pay up to $5 for this, though the normal $10 is a bit too much unless you're a huge Tower Defense fan.As a new VR player, one thing I have struggled with a lot is glide movement. In this game, you move around by holding the movement button and moving your hand\/the controller in physical space, so you can actually control the exact speed you move! It's very intuitive and newcomer-friendly, and much appreciated! The gameplay is pretty much what you'd expect. Several tower types with multiple (2) upgrade paths each, and you place them around a path that enemies come through. However the way you select and place towers, using a specialized type of controller in your off hand, works really well and helps give the feeling of this not just simply being a Tower Defense VR port. It's very much made for VR, with a cool Tron-esque visual style, great retro music, and simple but artistically relevant and nice looking enemies and towers.Would definitely recommend this for up to $5, and I expect it will take at least 2 or 3 hours if not several more to play through all the levels and challenges and suchMy ONLY complaint is that I can not seem to scale up\/down. The options display controls clearly, but I think I'm missing something.. I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually, and the fact that it's a feature only further bolsters this game's fun and value. Fun tower defense game that succeeds where a lot of other TD games have failed. It is smart in how ramps up the difficulty and has a great "one more time" feeling. Wonderful game for the price.Quibbles:* Make sure you have a good CPU, especially if you're running the Vive Wireless Adapter. I have an i5-65k with a 1080, and I had to scale the graphics way back to avoid the fuzzies.* Love the flexibility in where I put the towers, but dropping them, they sometimes float a little off if I don't hold my hand exactly still.* I would appreciate being able to pick up towers without bending all the way over.. Verry addicting game. I love how you can purchase bombs to throw at the enemies. Would be great if you could purchase a gun with ammo to shoot them. Very good game! Good job devs!. I have no VR Headset, therefore I could not leave the main menu. But it was totally worth getting for the main menu animation + music. I would also recommend buying it for background footage. /s. Really fun tower defense really well done in VR.Just challenging enough for me as i already has to restart level 2 several time in order to perfect it.You can drop towers directly on the field and pick em up to relocate.Really help to improve your defense as you upgrade the different towers and their range increase. You also have some other turrets to buff those in the area. For movement you can drag the map around you and zoom in and out.I wish you could also teleport as it take some time to move to the other side of the map if you are really zoomed in but maybe i just didn't figure how to do it yet.Would be great to add teleport if it's not available but definitly not game breaking otherwise.Only played a couple hours and i will definitly continue more.
